Privacy policy

I'm Johan Vivier, the developer of Babies vs Zombies. I make the game under the VivierApps name in South Africa. If you have a privacy question, email johanvivier420@gmail.com.

Your save and backups

Your adventure and settings are saved on your device. You don't need a game account, and your progress doesn't automatically sync to another device.

The game doesn't send me a copy of your adventure. Different browsers, website addresses and app installations can each have their own save.

When you choose Copy backup code, the backup goes to your device's clipboard. You choose where to keep it or who to share it with. Your device or the service you use to transfer it may handle that copy under its own settings. Restoring a backup lets you review it before replacing your current adventure.

Keep a backup before changing devices or reinstalling. Clearing browser or app data can remove your progress. It won't remove backups you've kept elsewhere.

When you contact me

If you email me, I receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. I use them to answer you and look into the problem.

You can review and copy bug details from the game. They include the app version, screen, platform, screen size and relevant encounter. Purchase help has a separate summary of the status shown in the app. These summaries leave out save backups, profile names, account details and purchase identifiers. Nothing is sent automatically.

Please check screenshots before sending them. Don't send passwords, verification codes, card details, identity documents or a child's personal information. I don't need your full backup for an initial support request.

The support address uses Gmail. Google's Privacy Policy explains how Google handles its email services.

The website

Cloudflare hosts the public website. When you visit, it receives connection information such as your IP address, the page you requested, browser information and the time of the request. It uses traffic information to deliver and protect the site. Those requests don't include your adventure backup.

These support and privacy pages have no advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels or contact forms. They use your device's fonts. External links take you to services with their own privacy practices.

You can read Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for more detail. Hosting and email providers may process information outside South Africa.

Children and parents

The game is intended for a mixed audience, including children under 13. Normal play doesn't require a player to send me their name, birthday or contact details.

If a player is under 13, a parent or caregiver should contact me on their behalf. Please describe the game issue without including the child's full name, birthday, address, school or photographs.

If you believe a child has sent personal information, email me so I can look into it. Identify the message without repeating more personal information than necessary.

Ads and purchases

Ads and payments aren't available in the version covered by this policy. I'm preparing optional rewarded ads and a one-off full-game purchase for iOS.

Before those features become available, I'll update this policy to explain the actual purchase and advertising data, the services involved and the choices for players and parents. That includes the protections needed for children and players whose age is unknown.

A future Apple purchase would be handled through the player's Apple Account. Restoring a purchase would restore access, not transfer adventure progress. Apple's own services are covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Keeping or removing information

Your local save stays on your device unless you choose to copy or share it. I don't have an automatic cloud save to recover if that local copy is lost.

I keep support messages while they're needed to deal with an issue and its follow-up, or where a record is needed for a dispute or legal requirement. I don't add support contacts to marketing lists.

You can email me to ask what information I hold from your support request, correct it or ask for it to be deleted. I may need to confirm that the request is yours. If something needs to be retained, I'll explain why. Your rights depend on where you live, and you can raise a concern with your local data-protection authority.

Removing a support message won't delete your local adventure or copies you've kept. Apple, Google and Cloudflare handle their separate records under their own policies.

Changes

I'll update this page when the game's handling of information changes and show the date of the published update. You can find help with the game on the support page.
